CUMBERLAND AWARDED PETERHEAD PROJECT
Cumberland Electrochemical Limited is
delighted to announce their latest success in securing a major project for
Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE).
The Project at Peterhead Power Station
was awarded on a turnkey basis after an extensive consultation process
undertaken by PB Power and SSE concluded that electrochlorination was both
economically and environmentally preferable to the long existing gas
chlorination system.
The project requirement includes complete
removal of existing gas systems, installation of new 3 x 60kg/hr EC plant and
600m dosing line and new intake chamber injection system.
“…Most of our recent efforts and success
has been based on the more traditional geographic markets for our products in
The Middle East, Africa and Asia, so we are particularly pleased to be selected
by SSE for this project as it is one of the largest constructed in the UK in
recent years and demonstrates that even in colder seawater temperatures,
electrochlorination is considered the most economical and safe method of
disinfecting intake systems …”.
